Walnut, Calif. - University of Alabama freshman distance runner Katelyn Greenleaf produced one of the finest distance performances in Crimson Tide outdoor track history Thursday evening at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.

Greenleaf placed eighth in the women's Olympic Development 10,000 meters in a time of 34 minutes, 52.13 seconds. That performance ranks seventh on the UA all-time list in the 10k and is a personal best for Greenleaf, in addition to being a time that will likely qualify her for the upcoming NCAA Regional meet in May.

The rest of the Alabama track and field team travels to Baton Rouge, La., this Saturday where the Crimson Tide will compete at the LSU Alumni Gold meet against a field that includes several of the nation's best collegiate teams.
