TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -

The University of Alabama track and field team is ranked among the nation's top 25 teams in this week's National Dual Meet Rankings by Track & Field News magazine released on Wednesday, April 17.

Alabama is ranked 16th in the men's rankings and is ranked 25th in the women's rankings. The Crimson Tide is one of four Southeastern Conference (SEC) teams in the women's rankings, joining No. 1 LSU, No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 5 Arkansas. Alabama is one of five SEC teams in the men's rankings, joining No. 1 Arkansas, No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 5 Florida and No. 10 LSU.

Rankings are compiled for a combined indoor and outdoor season, with outdoor competition given more weight.  Teams are also rewarded for an extensive and/or challenging dual meet schedule. To be eligible for ranking, a team must compete in at least one dual meet (using Track & Field News’ definition of a dual, a scored meet of four or fewer teams).
