Tide Men's and Women's Teams Make Final Indoor Dual Meet Rankings for First Time Since 1991
Feb. 21, 2013 Tuscaloosa, Ala. - Both the Crimson Tide men's and women's teams are ranked in the nation's top 20 in the final rankings of Track and Field News' indoor dual meet rankings for the 2013 season. The men's team is 20th in the rating while the Crimson Tide women finished 13th overall. Alabama's SEC rivals, LSU and Texas A&M led both rankings. A&M led the men's survey while LSU is atop the women's rankings. The ranking marks the first time since 1991 that the Crimson Tide men's and women's teams are ranked in the final rankings. That year Alabama was 16th in the women's rankings and 20th in the men's rankings. Overall, four Southeastern Conference teams ranked in the men's top 20 (No. 1 A&M, No. 2 Arkansas, No. 4 LSU and No. 20 Alabama) while four SEC teams are ranked in the women's top 20 (No. 1 LSU, No. 2 A&M, No. 3 Arkansas and No. 13 Alabama). To be considered for the indoor rankings, a team must compete in at least one dual meet during the indoor season, using TFN's definition of a dual meet as a scored meet between four or fewer teams. T&FN's dual meet rankings, compiled by Jesse Squire, are a revival of annual rankings compiled from 1970 to 1995. The full final rankings: Men
