Crimson Tide signs 27 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent

Adam Tribble is in his second year on the University of Alabama track and field coaching staff as an assistant coach overseeing the Crimson Tide's distance runners. In his first season at UA he coached the women's cross country squad to its highest finish at the NCAA Regional Championships in more than 13 years.

Tribble and head coach Dan Waters manage Alabama's cross country team, in addition to Tribble's focus on distances during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

"Adam is a guy that I coached at the University of Georgia, and I've always recognized his deep passion for the sport and he's educated himself in the sport as well as anyone," Waters said. "He has a fantastic relationship with distance runners and knows how to relate to them. He brings a great element of organization and energy to our staff."

Tribble spent the two seasons prior to coming to Alabama in the same role at Oregon State following stints at Arkansas and his alma mater, Georgia.

During his five seasons at Arkansas he helped coach the Razorbacks' women's team to three consecutive SEC Cross Country Championships and a pair of runner-up finishes. Arkansas never fell out of the top 20 at the NCAA Championships under his watch and finished as high as fifth in 2006.

While a student at Georgia under Waters' tutelage, Tribble was a two-year captain of the Bulldog track and field team, earning All-Region honors in cross country. He also finished 46th in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon.

A 2002 graduate of Georgia with a degree in health and physical education, he also received a graduate degree from Georgia in movement studies. In May of 2012, he married Alabama volunteer assistant track and field coach Meredith Tribble.
