Earned eight victories on the year (five discus titles, three shot put titles), concluding with the NCAA discus title ... won the discus title at the NCAA Championships with a mark of 205-10 on his final throw, becoming the second freshman in NCAA history to win the event ... finished fifth in the discus with a mark of 202-0 at the NCAA East Preliminary to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships ... earned SEC All-Freshman team and second team All-SEC honors after finishing runner-up in the discus with a personal-best mark of 209-1 at the SEC Championships ... won the discus with a mark of 187-9 and placed third in the shot put (58-5 3/4) at the Jace Lacoste Invitational ... finished fifth in both the discus (196-9) and the shot put (57-3) at the Mt. Finished 12th in the shot put with a mark of 56-11 1/2 at the SEC Indoor Championships ... placed 11th in the shot put at the Tyson Invitational with a mark of 54-8 1/4 ... finished runner-up in the shot put with a mark of 56-9 1/4 at the Indiana Relays ... threw a season-best mark of 57-5 3/4 to place eighth in the shot put at the Rod McCravy Memorial ... finished fourth in shot put at the Auburn Invitational with a mark of 55-8 1/4.

Freshman (2013)
Redshirted and did not compete as a true freshman ... picked up his second victory of the 2013 summer at the Pan American Junior Championships in Medellin, Colombia, with a discus throw of 205-0 (62.49 meters) ... also won the discus at the 2013 USA Track a Field Junior Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, with a winning throw of 206 feet, 2 inches (62.84 meters) ... made that winning effort on his only legal throw of the day, easily outpacing the field en route to earning a spot on the U.S. National Team that competed in the Pan American Junior Championships.
