Sophomore 2013 Outdoor Season Had an outstanding performance at the 2013 SEC Outdoor Championships capped off with a SEC Championship in the 100 Meters by running a 10.12 winning time ... also competed in the 200 meters and finished third with a time of 20.52 ... ran on the second place 4x100 meter relay team at the SEC Championships as well, a team that was clocked at 39.08 ... played integral part in the 4x100 relay victory at the Drake Relays in which the team ran the first sub-39 second time since 1983 at UA - with a 38.97 - that ranks 3rd all-time at Alabama ... also participated in the 4x200 at the Drake Relays ... finished 1st in the 100 meter relay at the LSU Alumni Gold with a time of 10.26 ... ran the fastest collegiate 100 meter time in 2013 at the Spec Towns Invitational with a 10.06 finishing 1st ... won the 200 meter at the Crimson Tide Invitational with a time of 20.61 ... ran on the 4x100 team that won the relay at the Crimson Tide Invitational with a time of 39.17 ... participated in the 4x100 (1st with a time of 39.89) and the 4x400 (1st with a time of 3:08.47) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational ... ran on the 4x100-meter (2nd in 40.30) and 4x200-meter relay (1st in 1:24.54) units at the John Mitchell Alabama Relays. 2013 Indoor Season Competed in the 200 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships placing 8th with a prelim time of 20.81 and a finals time of 20.97, both ranking in the school's top 10 list...placed fourth in the 200 meters at the SEC Championships (20.81) ... took home two wins at the Mark Colligan Memorial in the 60 meters (6.73) and the 200 meters (21.31)... ran a 21.69 200 meters at the Indiana Relays.
Prep and Personal First name is pronounced "DEE-on-DRAY" ... one of the nation's top sprinters having qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 meters ... holds personal best performances of 10.10 in the 100 meters, 20.50 in the 200 and has run a relay split of 46.2 in the 400 ... starred at wide receiver on the football team at American River College ... was a football/track star in high school at Laguna Creek High School ... was his district's most valuable player in football in 2009 while earning all-district honors on offense and special teams ... a standout on the football and track team at Laguna Creek, Batson came to ARC to play football, but in an agreement with his mom (a former track athlete at Oklahoma) he joined the track team in 2010 ... in a breakout 2012 season, Batson won the state junior college title in both the 100 and the 200 and participated in the Olympic Trials ... coached at American River CC by Rick Anderson and Mike Reid ... son of Sonja Batson ... born July 13, 1992.
