TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama women's swimming and diving team (1-1, 0-1 SEC) travels to Nashville, Tenn., this Friday where they will take on Vanderbilt (0-1, 0-1 SEC) at 1 p.m. CT.

"We've been working on race strategy and pacing over the last couple of weeks and we're hoping to see some improvement in those areas up in Nashville," UA head coach Dennis Pursley said. "We haven't backed off at all going into this weekend, so I'm looking for everyone to swim tough to get the win."

It will be the Crimson Tide's third meet of the year and second road contest while the Commodores have an invitational and a dual meet against LSU under their belt.

One of the key matchups in Friday's meet will come in the breaststroke events where Alabama sophomore Kaylin Burchell and Vanderbilt's Jenn Mann both rank in the Southeastern Conference's top 25 this season. Another match-up to watch will come in the backstroke events where Alabama's Lauren Piper will face off against the Commodores' Chrissy Oberg.

The Tide continues to be led by All-American and 2012 Olympian Kristel Vourna, who ranks in the SEC top 10 in both the 100 and 200 butterfly.
