TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama swimming and diving team got official practices underway Thursday morning before dawn at the Alabama Aquatic Center.

While the Crimson Tide started preparations for the 2013-14 season almost immediately following the close of last season, the first official practice of head coach Dennis Pursley's second season at Alabama's helm began with a two-hour water workout.

"This morning was a good start," Pursley said. "As a team, we're still getting to know each other; which is going to be the case when you have as many new faces as we do this season. We have a long way to go to be where this team needs to be, but we're also light years ahead of where we were at this point a year ago. We just have to keep moving forward, getting better with each day, with each practice."
