Swimming and Diving Earns 10 Top-10 Finishes at Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Alabama men's and women's swimming and diving teams turned in 10 top-10 individual finishes on day two of the Georgia Tech Invitational being held in the GT Aquatic Center this weekend.

Senior Reese Shirey finished sixth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.58 while freshman Brett Walsh was eighth after touching the wall at 51.27. Walsh was also 10th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.06. Junior Jake Carloni was sixth off the 3-meter springboard with a score of 329.10. Junior BJ Hornikel was seventh in the 200 freestyle with a 1:40.36. Freshman Travis Kerner was eighth in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:14.57.

Sophomore Lisa Bogosian posted another top-10 finish, taking eighth off the 1-meter board with a score of 256.50. Freshman Justine Panian was eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 56.82 while freshman Brittany Gilbert was 10th with a 57.91. Junior Stephanie Kinsey was eighth in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall at 56.77.

Alabama closes out the invitational on Sunday.
