Alabama sophomores Alex Coci and BJ Hornikel both scored on the final night of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships being held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center this week.
Coci earned first team All-American honors in the 200 butterfly after taking sixth place with a career-best time of 1:43.36. In the preliminaries, Coci was seventh with a time of 1:43.42. Just the day before, Coci took 12th in the 100 butterfly with a school record time of 46.50.
Hornikel scored his first points of the championships with a 13th place finish in the 100 freestyle. He posted a time of 43.29 in finals, earning honorable mention All-American honors in the process. Hornikel also took 22nd in the 200 freestyle earlier in the championships.
