Diving Pair Makes Finals at NCAA Zone B Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Two Alabama divers advanced to finals on day two of the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships being held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee campus this week.

Junior Paige McCleary took ninth off the 1-meter board after scoring 561.70 points between the preliminary and final rounds. Sophomore Lisa Bogosian finished in 20th place after scoring 249.05 points in prelims.

To earn one of the 10 berths available for women out Zone B, McCleary will have to finish in the top three of Wednesday's platform event. She could also advance if one of the 10 women who have already qualified for the meet finish in the top three off the platform.

Junior Luke Zippi led the way for the Tide men off the 3-meter board, taking eighth place after scoring 661.90 points between prelims and finals. Junior Jake Carloni, senior Pete Hillyer, and sophomore Hunter Smith finished 21st, 24th and 27th respectively off the 3-meter board, scoring 284.55, 273.75 and 262.20 points.

Both the men and women will compete off the platform to close out the championships on Wednesday.
