Several Alabama swimmers posted career-best times at the Bulldog Last Chance Meet in Athens, Ga. this weekend, including two that are the Crimson Tide's fastest of the season.
Freshman Justine Panian touched the wall at 55.31 in the 100 butterfly, posting Alabama's fastest time of the season in that event. Freshman Michele Rielly swam a 2:00.86 in the 200 backstroke, which is the Tide's fastest time of the season. Rielly also posted her best time of the season in the 100 backstroke, clocking a 56.14.
Freshman Morgan Presley notched career-best times in both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. She touched the wall at 1:02.70 in the 100 and earned an NCAA provisional standard in the 200 with a 2:14.47, which ranks her seventh all-time for the Tide. Sophomore Brittany Parkey posted her season-best times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke with times of 1:06.23 and 2:21.17, respectively.
On the men's side of the slate, junior George Wong posted a 1:54.75 in the 200 individual medley, which stands second for the Tide this season. Sophomore Clark Garner posted a career-best times in the 50 and 100 freestyles, going 20.79 and 45.52. Sophomore Abbas Qali scored career-best times in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly, going 45.30 and 49.13, respectively.
