Cheerleading/Big Al Information

Our Cheerleading program consists of two teams: All Girl (24-26 females) and Coed (11 males and 9 females). The All Girl team cheers for Womenís basketball games, Volleyball, Gymnastics, and home football games. The Coed team cheers for all home and away football games and Menís basketball. Both teams compete each year at UCA College Nationals in January. Cheerleaders are expected to schedule their classes around the practice times determined by the coaches. In addition to practice, the cheerleaders are required to attend weekly workouts.

Coed Squad

  • Thursday, April 10 5:30p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday, April 11 11:00a.m. - 1:00p.m. & 4:00p.m. - 6:00p.m.
  • Saturday, April 12 10:00a.m. - Noon

Roster posted by 1:00p.m. Team meeting/practice at 2:00p.m.

All-Girl Squad

  • Saturday, April 12 4:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, April 13 Noon - 3:00p.m. & 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m.
  • Monday, April 14 10:00a.m. - Noon

To be eligible to try out, you must have a letter of acceptance from The University of Alabama admissions office, or currently be enrolled as a full time student at the University. We will need several forms sent in to our office (mailed all together to the cheer office) no later than April 7st, 2014. No exceptions to this date! Once all completed information has been received, you will be placed on the tryout roster and receive a confirmation email. All needed forms will be on our website by February 3rd, 2014.
