Bama's Greatest Moments

Coach Bryant's Last Game
The 1982 Liberty Bowl in Memphis was the setting for Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant’s final game. Alabama entered the game with a 7–4 record and was pitted against Illinois who was making their first bowl appearance since 1964. Coach Bryant's announcement to retire following the game made it a national showcase. In a hard fought, cold and physical contest, the Crimson Tide reigned supreme winning 21-15 leaving Coach Bryant with an overall 323-85-17 record and the most wins as a NCAA Division I football coach.
