Brick Campaign - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where are the engraved bricks going to be installed?
A: The engraved bricks will be installed outside the front entrance of the Coleman Coliseum. The bricks will create the entrance to the coliseum and can be viewed by supporters anytime.
Q: How long after I place an order will my brick be installed?
A: Crimson Terrace brick sections have been created and bricks will be installed once the section has enough bricks to fill the corresponding area. Bricks will be sectioned and installed throughout the year as orders are received.
Q: How will I be able to find my engraved bricks?
A: Your order will be sectioned into the designated areas of the Crimson Terrace and you will receive a locator letter and a map depicting where your bricks will be installed. The letter will depict the verbiage that you chose to have engraved on your brick as well as a section number that will correspond to the locator map.
Q: If I lose my locator letter and map how will I be able to find my brick?
A: Locator maps as well as a brick location guide will be located inside the lobby of the Coleman Coliseum.
Q: If I order a replica will it be an exact replica of the one being installed at the coliseum?
A: If you choose to order a replica of your brick it will be an exact replica of your order that is being installed at the coliseum, with the exception of the 16x16 Friends & Family Mosaic which will be a mini-replica with an overall size of 6x6. All other brick offerings will be the same size, color and have the same text on them as those that are installed.
Q: I want to order a replica only and don't want the brick installed at the coliseum. Is that possible?
A: In order to purchase a replica brick you have to have an order installed at the coliseum. The replica gives you the opportunity to have an exact reproduction of the installed brick for your home, office or to give as a gift.
Q: How will my replica be shipped and does it come with anything other than the brick?
A: Replicas are wrapped in custom designed foam and shipped directly to your address of choice via UPS. Replicas are a great gift idea and come with a formal personalized certificate that can be framed and given with the brick as a gift or displayed in your home or office.
Q: I ordered a replica with my coliseum order last month and now need to change my shipping address. How do I do that? Can I ship to a PO Box?
A: Once an order has been placed shipping addresses cannot be changed. Please provide us with your correct street address for prompt delivery. Replicas are shipped directly to you via UPS and therefore we cannot use a PO Box as a ship to address.
Q: I ordered a brick in memory of my father and now my brother and sister want a replica also. How can I order more replicas at a later date?
A: You can order replicas after the order has been placed by calling 205-348-BAMA. Replicas are a great way to memorialize the order that you chose to have installed at the coliseum. If your brick order is a gift for someone else, replicas are a great gift to give along with the certificate of authenticity that will come with the replica.
Q: How long after I place the order for my replica will I receive it?
A: Replicas will be engraved and shipped 6 - 10 weeks after your order is verified. Before the engraving process can begin you must approve, sign and return a verbiage verification to ensure that the text is exactly what you want.
Q: After I place my order can I change the text?
A: You will receive a verbiage verification letter in the mail shortly after you place your order. If you wish to make any changes to your text it has to be done on this verification. Text changes cannot be done over the phone. If you make changes to your text on the verification letter a new one will be created and mailed to you to ensure that the new text is what you want. You will have to return this second verification before engraving can begin.
Q: The text on my verbiage verification is correct. Do I have to return it?
A: Verbiage verifications are sent to ensure that your bricks are engraved with the exact text, spaces and characters that you want. Coliseum and replica bricks will not be engraved until the verification is signed and returned. We require these returned verifications because we want to make sure that your brick looks the way you want it to.
Q: If I don't want to place my order online how else can I order?
A: You can email bricks@ia.ua.edu to request a paper brochure. The Crimson Terrace brochures have an order form on them and can be mailed in with your payment of check, money order or credit card.
Q: I own a local company and want my company name engraved, is that allowed?
A: We are very excited to offer a special product for local as well as national corporate organizations that would like to sponsor bricks for installation at the coliseum. The corporate product is a 16 x 16 brick array that will frame the verbiage you choose to engrave. Please read the engraving guidelines to ensure that your verbiage will be approved.
Q: Are there brick inscription guidelines?
A: Brick inscription guidelines have been created to ensure the positive nature of the program. These guidelines can be found on the online order form as well as on the brochure.
Q: If I want more characters or extra lines of text can I have smaller engraving or spacing?
A: Brick color, font and character size have been carefully chosen to ensure the aesthetics of the Crimson Terrace. These things cannot be changed to accommodate verbiage. Please insure that the text you submit to be engraved is within the parameters of the product you've chosen. Several brick products are available for customization to allow for additional lines of text.
Q: My friend also ordered a brick and we want ours installed next to each other. Is this possible?
A: Due to the installation process, we can not take specific requests of this type.
Q: What does the money from the brick campaign support?
A: The Crimson Terrace Brick Campaign's mission is to provide direct financial support to all University of Alabama Intercollegiate Athletic Programs through private philanthropy.
Q: If I place an order and decide that I would like to order another brick what do I do?
A: Ordering more than one product is simple. Each product must be separately ordered and can be done online or by utilizing a printed order form for each order. We require each order to be submitted separately to ensure that each brick is properly engraved with the correct verbiage on the desired product. Having separate orders for each product will guarantee that your bricks will be sectioned properly and that you will be informed of the location of each.
Q: Because I paid for the brick it is my property, correct?
A: University of Alabama is proud to offer the opportunity to install your personalized bricks at the coliseum. These bricks are meant to show the honor, support and memories that UA fans have. Because of this, your supporter brick purchase becomes the property of the University of Alabama and cannot be removed by the purchaser for any reason.
Q: What process is used to engrave the bricks?
A: The Crimson Terrace bricks are engraved using the most up-to-date engraving technology available today. Laser engraving is a superior process that creates the most permanent and durable brick marking in existence. Utilizing this process will ensure that your words will withstand the test of time allowing you to return season after season to see your personalized sponsorship.
Q: Because the Coleman Coliseum Commemorative Brick Program is a fundraising event, how do I get the tax information necessary to claim this gift?
A: Your Crimson Terrace brick sponsorship is tax deductible and you will receive a letter from the University indicating your tax benefit.
Q: If I order a brick and then change my mind, how can I cancel the order?
A: All brick order sales are final and orders cannot be cancelled or refunded.
Q: I want to order a brick but can't think what to have engraved on it. Can you give me some ideas?
A: Bricks are a popular gift idea for UA fans because you can commemorate, memorialize and celebrate the events and people you choose. Some engraving ideas are: Weddings, Birthdays, Significant Memories, Graduations.
