The Crimson Tide returns home next weekend hosting South Carolina
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Looking for a series sweep in Sunday's weekend finale, Alabama took an early 3-0 lead but Missouri responded with 11 unanswered to win the game, 11-3, in run-rule fashion in five innings.
Alabama (26-11, 4-5 SEC) jumped ahead to an early three-run lead after a pair of home runs from Ally Shipman and Ashley Prange but Missouri (22-16, 2-10 SEC) got the momentum back with a five-run third to take a 5-3 lead. The Tide loaded the bases in the top of the fourth but could not bring a run home and the Tigers tacked on two in the fourth and ended the game in run-rule fashion with four in the fifth to win, 11-3.
A first-inning single extended Kenleigh Cahalan's hitting streak to five games and her reached-base streak to seven. The home runs from Shipman and Prange were their 11th and third of the season, respectively, and gives Alabama eight straight games with at least one home run.
