NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional: Game Two - Alabama Beats Albany, 5-1 in seven innings

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  – The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Albany Great Danes 5-1 in seven innings, to close out day one of the 2017 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional being held at Rhoads Stadium this weekend.
Albany jumped to an early lead, taking a 1-0 advantage in the top of the second inning before Alabama answered in the bottom of the second, tying the game at 1-1. Alabama then went ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the third. After a scoreless fourth inning, the Tide poured on three runs in the bottom of the fifth to account for the final tally.
Senior Sydney Littlejohn picked up the win for Alabama, pushing her record to 16-8 on the season, while junior Devin Durando took the loss for Samford, falling to 8-4.
Alabama returns to action Saturday at 11:30 a.m. against Minnesota while Louisiana Tech faces Albany in the regional's first elimination game Saturday at 2 p.m.
