The Tide will use the week off to focus on fundamentals and correcting mistakes
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama football team continued its bye week work on Wednesday afternoon with a two-hour practice in full pads outdoors at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.
It was the second of three practices this week as the Crimson Tide continued to focus on improving fundamentals and techniques. Alabama will practice again Thursday before enjoying its first bye weekend of season during the University's fall break. The team will return to the practice field on Monday to begin preparations for a top-25 showdown with the No. 23 LSU Tigers.
The Crimson Tide and Tigers will meet on Nov. 4 for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff at Bryant-Denny Stadium, with the game airing live on CBS. Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Allie LaForce will handle the broadcast for the second consecutive contest. Alabama owns the all-time advantage, 52-25-5, and is currently riding a six-game winning streak that began with the Tide's 21-0 victory over the Tigers in the 2012 BCS National Championship.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Maxwell Football Club announced that Alabama junior running back Damien Harris was among four players from around the country added to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top college football player. Harris has rushed 81 times for 697 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the Tide in both categories. The Madison, Ky., native is averaging an SEC-best 8.6 yards per carry this season and ranks No. 3 in that category nationally.
