
Alabama Basketball Programs Set to Host Supe Store Tide Tipoff Friday Night

Men’s and women’s basketball teams to host fan-friendly event followed by a performance by Metro Boomin
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's basketball teams will usher in the 2016-17 campaign on Friday when they host the Supe Store Tide Tipoff beginning at 6 p.m. CT at Coleman Coliseum. The event will be highlighted with a performance from well-known music artist Metro Boomin at the end of the night.
Friday night's event will feature a skills competition, three-point shootout and a dunk contest, giving it the feel of an NBA All-Star game. Former Tide men's players Jim Farmer, Gerald Wallace and Mo Williams, women's former player Nikki Hegstetter and CBS sideline reporter Allie LaForce will serve as the celebrity dunk competition judges. In addition, ESPN College Gameday host and Alabama alumnus Rece Davis will make a special appearance.
The 2016 Supe Store Tide Tipoff will begin at 6 p.m. CT with a 45-minute autograph session featuring both teams' players and head coaches stationed throughout the concourse. Team posters and schedule cards will be available for all fans who are in attendance.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the teams will participate in a variety of on-court activities including player introductions, a skills competition and a three-point shootout. The men will cap the basketball portion of the event with a dunk contest.
Metro Boomin, who is one of the hottest record producers and DJs in the country, will then take the stage at 8 p.m. CT for the entertainment portion of the evening.
Admission to the event is free for UA students as well as men's and women's basketball season ticketholders. UA students, admitted one per student ID, will swipe their Action Card similar to a regular men's basketball game at the west entrance of Coleman Coliseum Friday night beginning at 6 p.m. CT. General admission tickets for all other fans interested in attending will be $5.
All seating at the event will be first come, first serve general admission seating. UA students will have a choice to sit in the student section or walk down and stand on the floor for both the basketball portion and the entertainment portion of the night.
