Rodney Brown began his first year as a full-time Alabama athletic employee in 1999 after being around the Crimson Tide program for years. Brown had worked for eight years as a part-time instructor in Alabama's athletic training education program while also working as a manager at Druid City Hospital's Sports Medicine department.
Brown brings an expertise to the Crimson Tide on athletics from his years of experience. From 1979 until 1987, he was a teacher, athletic trainer and coach at Tuscaloosa County High School. He was a teacher and coach at Boteler Junior High from 1978-79.
Brown is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, National Strength & Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, Southeastern Athletic Trainers' Association and the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association.
Certified as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers' Association board of Certification, he is past president of the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association.
