Kevin Almond currently serves as Associate Athletics Director, with sport oversight for baseball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's golf, sports medicine, strength training, equipment, computing systems and liaison with the A-Club.
Almond began his career in 1980 at the University of Georgia where he served as Assistant Athletic Trainer (1980-1982) and Assistant Academic Counselor (1982-1987). He also served as Academic Coordinator at George Mason University for three years (1987-1990).
In 1990, Almond was named the Director of Academic Programs for Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Alabama. He was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Support Services in 1997.
After graduating from Clarke Central (Ga.) High School in 1973, Almond graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Education in 1977. He earned his master's degree in Education from the UGA in 1980. During his collegiate tenure, Almond worked as a student athletic trainer (1973-1977) and a graduate assistant trainer (1978-1980).
A native of Athens, Ga., Almond enjoys reading and traveling in his spare time. He and his wife Leslie have two children, Daniel and Katherine.
