The "A" Club is the University of Alabama's Lettermen Club for former athletes, managers and trainers.A-Club logo
The organization is open to all former lettermen of University of Alabama athletics. Criteria and Procedure 1. A nomination should be formally made, in writing by a sponsoring member in good standing (current year's dues paid), listing the reasons why the candidate should be considered. The nominee must not be aware of the impending nomination until the screening committee, at the annual business meeting, announces it. Nominations may be made throughout the year and sent to the Association Secretary. Nominations will not be received any later than 10 days prior to the Association's annual business meeting. Currently this date is the same date of the Spring "A" Day football game. Recommendations of the screening committee will be based on the nominees:
2. The nomination should be endorsed in writing by at least two additional "A" Club Alumnus members, in good standing, that know the nominee personally. Any nominations failing to comply with this requirement will not be considered. Nominations may be made for deceased individuals. 3. The screening committee will be composed of the President of the Association, who will serve as chairman, the President Elect, the Secretary-Treasurer and two additional members appointed by the President. 4. The screening committee for membership will recommend no more than two living nominees and no more than one deceased nominee in any year. 5. At the Annual Meeting the voting body of the Association will receive the committee's report and will either confirm or reject the recommendation(s). 6. The new member, or a family member in the case of a deceased member, will be notified by the Secretary of the Association of the Club's action. Those notified will be invited to the next Annual Meeting to receive a plaque indicating their Honorary Membership.
